FAQ's
Why buy directly from Vienna Heritage Pianos?
As we are based in the world's classical music capital with its centuries-old tradition of piano construction, we are able to rely on an enormous selection of instruments from prestigious European manufacturers. Beside our own inventory of hand-picked classic and antique pianos, we also have recourse to our huge European network of local sources, from expert piano stores to renowned antique dealers and piano collectors. To offer the best prices possible, we avoid any intermediaries or local distributors and ship directly from Vienna, Austria to the United States.
Do I have to choose between the best price and the best service?
Definitely not! Despite offering the best prices for high-quality European pianos, we want our customers to benefit from perfect service and expert purchase advice from our friendly team of piano experts, including on-site piano tuning and services provided in collaboration with our local piano technician partners in your region.
How long does the shipping take?
The average shipping via air freight from our showroom in Vienna to the US East Coast takes between 10 and 14 days; to the West Coast, this period is 14 to 21 days. Once your order is placed, we’ll arrange an exact delivery date and time to best suit your schedule.
What are the costs of shipping and insurance?
The average overseas door-to-door shipping costs for a grand piano range from $2,000.00 to $2,800.00 (East Coast) and $2,800.00 to $3,500.00 (West Coast), depending on piano size and final destination/nearest airport. In addition to transportation directly to your living room, we also take care of insurances, which are generally about 1% of the piano’s selling price.
Once you’ve stated your interest in purchasing one of our pianos, our service team will send you an accurate quote for door-to-door shipping, including full insurance, customs clearance and so on.
Is shipping via air freight safe for a piano?
Our experienced team specializes in professional wrapping, packing, loading and transporting pianos. For overseas deliveries, we prefer air freight, as it is not only the quickest but also the safest way of shipping a piano from Europe to the US. By air freight, the piano is transported in a climate-controlled hold with no risk of damage.
Who handles the shipping?
We handle all of the shipping logistics for your piano purchase. Using our network of specially trained piano movers, experienced piano freight companies and customs clearing agents, we coordinate the safe and quick delivery of pianos all over the world, every day.
Who will tune my piano?
All of our pianos are already perfectly tuned and regulated by our expert technicians in Vienna, meaning that after delivery only fine adjustments are needed. However, in collaboration with our local partners in the USA, we also offer additional concert-quality tuning included with your purchase at Vienna Heritage Pianos. The on-site tuning service is totally free of charge and can be requested once your instrument has been delivered.
What is your warranty?
All of our pianos have a three-year warranty. We provide a written warranty specific for each customer along with the piano. In the very unlikely event of any technical problems with your piano, we collaborate with the region’s most reputable piano professionals, who will provide reliable and quick technical support or expert repair.
