Vienna Heritage Pianos is a division of KlavierLoft, Vienna’s renowned piano specialist store, dedicated to new and pre-owned high-quality pianos. We are a family business and team of experienced piano experts with a passion for quality, heritage and craftsmanship. For more than ten years now, we have dedicated ourselves to sourcing one-of-a-kind pianos for our discerning international clients.
We are proud to be based in Vienna, Austria, the city of music. More famous composers have lived here than in any other city: From Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven to Johannes Brahms, Franz Schubert, Anton Bruckner, Johann Strauss, and Gustav Mahler. In Vienna, music has always been literally in the air.
The influence of these composers and artists also led to the establishment of a centuries-old tradition of piano construction. The world-famous Viennese school of piano making produced one of the two distinct types of piano to be developed in the eighteenth century. Like its counterpart, the double repetition action, the Viennese action began as a regional tradition and was first built by makers and players mostly in Austria and southern Germany. Due to Vienna’s enormous influence in the world of music, these pianos would become known throughout Europe and used by most of the great composers of the classical period, with such famous musicians as Schubert, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Schumann, Kalkbrenner, Liszt, and Brahms all playing and owning instruments with a Viennese action.
